Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an established electrical contractor based in the West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as a CAD Technician on a full-time permanent basis.

This is an established and successful electrical contractor that has been operating for 30 years, specialising in the electrical design and fit-out of large-scale commercial premises.
You'll be joining a small in-house drawing team where you'll work closely with colleagues and interact directly with company directors. It's a fast-paced environment with multiple live projects, so you'll have plenty of variety and the opportunity to take ownership of your workload.
Personality
We're looking for someone technically confident who enjoys working at pace and can keep on top of multiple projects and changing priorities. You'll be organised, proactive and comfortable managing deadlines, with strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused when things get busy. You'll enjoy working as part of a smaller team where you can communicate directly with colleagues and play an important part in delivering projects successfully.

Job Role
Adapting architects' design-intent drawings into fully designed electrical drawings
Producing and developing drawings primarily using AutoCAD
Managing drawing changes across multiple live projects
Prioritising workloads to ensure drawings are completed within required project deadlines
Working closely with the wider project team to ensure drawings accurately reflect project requirements
Assisting with BIM projects where required
Reviewing BIM models using Autodesk Revit
Using software including AutoCAD 2025, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage and Revit Server/BIM 360
Skills and Experience
Demonstrating strong previous experience using AutoCAD
Managing time effectively and confidently prioritising competing deadlines
Working effectively within a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrating strong attention to detail when producing and amending technical drawings
Previous experience producing electrical drawings would be advantageous
Experience using Autodesk Revit would be advantageous
Previous experience within a BIM drawing office would be advantageous
