Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an expanding organisation based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as a Bookkeeper / Account Assistant on a full-time permanent basis

Personality
The ideal candidate will be confident working independently and have a strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial procedures. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing invoices, processing payments, and preparing reports to support our accountant and management team.

Job Role:
Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero
Processing sales and purchase invoices
Managing accounts payable and receivable
Performing monthly accounts reconciliation to ensure all financial data is up-to-date and accurate
Issuing statements and remittances
Running cash flow forecasts
Managing the entire invoice and credit note lifecycle from creation to resolution
Payroll for Sub-contractors / maintaining timesheets and processing expenses
Processing credit applications
Maintaining software program ensuring correct use of purchase orders and change orders
Managing Apprenticeship paperwork
Fleet management
Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by management
Completing general administrative duties to support the finance and office teams
Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, fostering trust and open communication to facilitate smoother payment processes
Collaborating with the accountants to provide necessary documentation and support for Financial Reporting Period
Managing of rental properties
Attending weekly production meetings
Skills and experience:
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
Proficiency in accounting software Xero
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
Trustworthy, professional, and discreet
Good communication skills and a strong team player
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High levels of efficiency and accuracy
Excellent time management skills
