Education Finance Officer - £32,000 - £35,000

Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an organisation based in West Bromwich. This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team as a Schools Budgeting Officer.


Summary

Providing advice and support to School Governors, Head teachers and other education staff on all aspects of financial management and planning.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, bank reconciliations and year end accounts

  • Preparing VAT returns

  • Monitoring staff and non-staff budgets, advising schools on any significant budget variances

  • Preparing forecasts of likely financial position at the year-end

  • Maintaining internal systems to enable reporting requirements to be met

  • Attending meetings to present finance reports and offer advice to head teachers and governors

  • Ensuring reports are prepared in line with the appropriate Financial standards and reporting requirements

  • Providing advice and support to schools in relation to effective Financial Planning

  • Preparing Annual budget and cashflow statements


Skills and experience

  • Understanding of school finances

  • 3 years of working in a school finance function

  • Must be able to travel to various locations across the West Midlands

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Pass an Enhanced DBS Check


Package and benefits

  • 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
